UK Film Location: RUR-13180 Kent

DETAILS

Extraordinary 3,300-acre country estate and wilderness film location in Kent, with period farmhouses, expansive wetland landscapes, waterways, private roads, barns, shepherd’s huts, lodges, derelict buildings and a private beach.

Set within an exceptional and seemingly remote landscape, this vast private estate offers an extraordinary variety of natural, agricultural and residential filming environments. The main farmhouse sits prominently within open grassland and wetlands, surrounded by expansive views, waterways and huge skies, giving the property an unusually isolated and cinematic quality.

The estate extends to approximately 3,300 acres of wilderness and includes two farmhouses, private roads, barns, derelict buildings, event spaces, shepherd’s huts and lodges, together with a private beach. The scale of the land provides productions with an extensive choice of rural and natural backdrops within one location.

Much of the estate has a striking wetland character, with open grazing land, reed-fringed water, meandering channels and broad, uninterrupted horizons. From ground level the landscape can feel extremely remote, while elevated views reveal a network of waterways stretching across the surrounding countryside.

The principal farmhouse provides a contrasting residential environment. Externally, it is a substantial traditional brick country house with a tiled roof and period character, while the photography also shows a contemporary glazed extension and modernised interiors. The kitchen is particularly spacious and light, with a large island, long dining table, roof glazing and extensive glazed doors opening towards the garden.

Elsewhere on the estate, a substantial timber barn offers a dramatic interior with exposed timber framing, high pitched roof and large glazed barn doors overlooking the landscape. Shepherd’s huts and contemporary timber lodges provide further accommodation-style settings, with rustic timber interiors and direct connections to the surrounding countryside.

With its combination of vast wilderness, wetlands, waterways, period farmhouses, barns, private roads, derelict structures, accommodation and private beach, RUR-13180 offers an exceptionally diverse country estate and rural film location in Kent, with both large-scale landscape opportunities and intimate residential settings.
