Handsome 17th Century Manor House

Handsome 17th Century Manor house of warm honey-coloured limestone with medieval features and a walled garden. The house was a former rectory with parts dating back to 1684.

The formal reception rooms at the front of the house include a large entrance hall reception room with tiled floor, window seats and occasional furniture. The formal drawing room has original oak panelling and was the site of the New College, Oxford courts, decorated in a modern, vibrant fashion which blends perfectly with the traditional panelling and windows. The other living space available is a more casual sitting room, with wall to wall oak bookshelves and traditional desk.

A double height kitchen with an aga, original flagstone floor and exposed beams is a highlight of the house. With excellent natural light and widows on 3 aspects.

The walled garden is West Facing, with the large St Mary’s church overlooking to the South. Raised beds in Corten steel and newly planted flower beds surround the house which come into their own in the summer months.
