a contemporary reinvention of a mid-century house, designed and lived in by its architect owners and their two children. The project weaves together a series of modern, interlocking spaces with the character and structure of the original building, creating a layered domestic environment that is both generous and intimate. At the heart of the ground floor is the Garden Room - a large, light-filled space where floor-to-ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between house and landscape. Here, the warmth of natural light, views of greenery, and a sense of openness flow seamlessly into daily life, bringing the outdoors inside. In contrast, other spaces are designed for intimacy and retreat: a hidden children's playroom is tucked discreetly behind secret doors, allowing moments of discovery and privacy; a library with a piano provides a contemplative centrepiece to family life, lined with books and animated by music. Together these create a rhythm of openness and enclosure, activity and pause. The upper level accommodates five bedrooms, balancing family practicality with the same clarity of design found below. Throughout, the interiors are marked by clean lines, natural materials, and refined detailing - oak parquet floors, precise joinery, and carefully framed views. This is a home that celebrates light, craft, and narrative: a modern family dwelling, conceived as an evolving sequence of spaces where architecture, landscape, and lived experience are interwoven.
