DETAILS

A recently converted former Presbyterian chapel built in 1881 nestled in the hills above Llangollen and Oswestry on the Wales/England border.

The property has been finished to a high modern standard and despite its rural location, is easy to reach via road from Llangollen or Glyn Ceiriog. It has a light-filled open plan feel inside and a rural/countryside feel outside. Traditional stone built converted former Welsh chapel with grey slate roof, finished to a high modern stand. Detached with a small garden area to the front, paved areas to both sides, and a large paved patio at the rear of the property leading to a driveway for 1-2 cars and a large landscaped and maintained garden of approximately 30m x 20m. Internal features: original pitched pine beams throughout, double height ceiling, underfloor heating, solar and ASHP, borehole, triple glazing, roof windows, high speed fibre optic broadband, EV charging. Bespoke kitchen with locally sourced Berwyn slate throughout, bespoke oak winder staircase. Historic interest: the chapel is on a historic buildings list and was photographed by a commissioned documentary/heritage/archivist photographer prior to the conversion. These photos are now part of the national archive in Aberystwyth. The chapel still features the original commemoration stone of the chapel's main patron (see photos) which is inset to the internal hallway wall plus the original founding stone complete with the year of completion above the doorway to the exterior porch. The property has been converted to modern environmental and ecological standards. It is very well insulated and features solar, air source heat pump, under floor heating throughout, EV charging point, a borehole for clean spring water and a modern water treatment plant. Our grid connection allows us to export surplus clean energy to the grid and/or import surplus clean energy as required. No fossil fuel energy is used at the property. There is no regular noise from inside the property. It is triple glazed and very well sound insulated from external noise. The nearest train station is located 8 miles away at Chirk.
