DETAILS

A country home but not like any other house you will find. It was designed and built by renowned designer and pioneer, the late Mark Wilkinson OBE.

The interior and furniture alike showcase its unique quality, deserving of the description by one professional as 'living magic’. There are six fully fitted bedrooms and six bathrooms, fitted office, two dinings rooms, three sitting rooms, fully fitted utility and boot room. The numerous different and beautiful details inside the house range from a unique Mark Wilkinson fitted main kitchen, de Gournay and leather walls, chandeliers, model ships, a sabre toothed tiger skeleton, bookcases, French and German artwork, beautiful freestanding furniture throughout, art deco lamps, gold leaf walls and ceilings, a baby grand piano and all housed in a cathedral like interior that has an easy, warm and inviting atmosphere. Outside there are five acres of gardens and woodland, divided into rooms and two lakes connected by a waterfall. In one area of the garden there is a small round log cabin which the family have always described as 'The Wendy House’, which has water and electrics, a living area, Esse range for heating and cooking and an outside decking veranda overlooking one of the lakes. Stags, tigers and stones, sit very comfortably amongst the bushes and a crystal tree can be found offering secret wishes. Beautiful stables and cloisters hug the back yard, the estate office and triple garages with copper doors house the gym, with a studio flat above, with an interior never seen before of chain mail curtains and winches, halberds, music sheet wallpaper, a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living space, sun room and an enormous boiler door to access another small bedroom and utility area.. Above the stables is a long hall/meeting space/apartment, housing objet d'art, amethyst geodes, a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and more exquisite items of furniture. The house is a truly unique 'amazing space’.
