The eye-catching 1960s podium terrace was completely transformed from an old garage block in 2021 into a distinctive production space for art, architecture and the environment. The light-filled frame now houses an event space, a breakout space or office, artist studios, a cafebar and arts bookshop, and a stunning rooftop garden. The retrofit was led by architects Sanchez Benton and artist Gabriel Kuri and has received numerous awards including two RIBAs for its approach to sustainability, architectural retrofitting and biodiversity.
