Acres of open plan gardens which can double for almost anywhere in the world.
Available for weekday filming only. One of the largest botanical collections in the world, these gardens are a stunning backdrop to any film or photoshoot. With an impressive Victorian greenhouse and acres of beautiful flower beds, lakes and woodland, this site can act as a double for the greenery of almost anywhere on the globe. The greenhouse contains 1,500 species of plants from all over the world, all kept in conditions above 10 degrees celsius. It’s been standing for over 250 years and features an impressive, ornate exterior surrounded by well-manicured lawns and sweeping stone steps. The arboretum is home to 14,000 trees, including rare and ancient varieties, which provide a unique and atmospheric location for photoshoots and filming. Towering giant redwoods can recreate the forests of California and the Pacific coast, and delicate pagoda trees can transport you to Japan. There is also a huge chestnut-leaved oak, measuring over 30m tall and 30m wide. The lake crossing is a particularly beautiful element of this location - the black granite walkway leads you over the water along a curved path that mimics the lake’s banks. This area is even more stunning in autumn, when the Chinese tupelo trees turn a deep red. Full of brilliant backdrops and scenery, these extensive gardens provide a unique location for filming and photography.
