Style Feature: Grand Designs Inspired Locations
As a location library, we're always on the look out for unique and daring properties; properties that go against the grain and make extraordinary shoot locations! Today, we thought we would take a look at some of the super modern, architectural locations on our library, that even Kevin McCloud would approve of!
Grand Designs features a huge variety of styles and designs on their infamous show, and all are just as impressive as the next. At Amazing Space, we also have a great selection of Grand Design-esque locations on our library that vary in in their boldness, materials, shape and design.
When it comes to choosing the perfect location for your next shoot, architectural locations are an ever popluar choice. RES-8491 is a super popular space on our library; it's a brilliant hybrid of old and new, with a shiny glass extension attached to the original 1950's cottage. It's sleek and visually interesting, all while keeping the warm charm of the original property by using contemporary wooden arches and flooring. RES-10271 is another great architectural space, bold and brash in it's design. There are so many great features to this property from the copper cladded exterior, exposed brickwork, peach painted walls, black kitchen with island and indoor workshop. It's an extremely versatile space, with plenty of room for a large crew and kit.
On the other end of the spectrum, Grand Design locations often experiment with minimalism and the use of raw materials like concrete and wood; RES-11038 is a great example of this. This architecturally designed house is visually stunning at every angle, and looks just as good on camera. It has a super smart kitchen, ideal for cookery and food lifestyle shoots, and plenty of spacious rooms make for various interesting backdrops for documentaries or interviews.
